Reading for Pleasure

Pupils from 7CWE thoroughly enjoyed their recent visit to Ruabon Library. The trip was part of our school’s initiative to encourage more students to read for pleasure. Whilst at the library, students were given a tour, informed about the library’s book borrowing system and were given opportunities to read books that interested them. They also participated in a book hunt, where they had to find certain books with specific genres, topics about Ruabon and Wales, and books from authors of diverse backgrounds.

Our students loved being part of the Ruabon Library community, and many of our students couldn’t wait to return. We would like to thank all of the library staff who helped make this trip possible. Recently, twenty students from Year 8 visited Wrexham’s Library, and another class are set to go to Cefn Mawr Library this week.

Our students are appreciating and enjoying these new reading environments, and as a school, we are looking forward to all of our Key Stage 3 students visiting a library in the local community, in the near future.
