Ruabon Heritage Trail

Friends of Ruabon Heritage Trail

On the evening of Saturday September 25th 2021, the Friends of Ruabon community group gave a presentation on their recent work on the creation of the Ruabon Heritage Trail, and future plans to develop the historical information available on the village of Ruabon and surrounding area.

The group used the main hall and dining hall at Ysgol Rhiwabon to showcase their work to date, and to provide refreshments before and after the presentation.

The Headteacher, Mrs Melanie Ferron-Evans welcomed everyone to the school, including many local councillors, supporters of the group, and the local MP Simon Baynes. Mrs Ferron-Evans congratulated the Friends of Ruabon on their success, and the support of Jo Smith and Sybil Bremner to the school and local community.

The evening covered the following items: ( see Launch Running order here….) an outline of the project and boards from the Chair of Friends of Ruabon, Jo Smith, the Reverend Kate Tiltman on the importance of talking histories, the Heritage Trail pictures and wider local history by Jim Baker, the installation of the Heritage Boards by Wrexham County Council by Councillor David Bithell, and closing words of thanks from His Worship the Mayor, Ronnie Prince.
