GCSE Examination results

Following a successful academic year, August 24th 2023 marks a very special day of celebration for Year 11 students, staff, and families in Ysgol Rhiwabon.

This year’s examination series establishes the return to formal examinations, assessed in close alignment to pre pandemic standards. This Year 11 was a cohort affected during Key Stage 3, by the disruption caused by the pandemic. Despite these challenges, Year 11 students have achieved an excellent set of results and we are delighted for them.

Mirroring last year, an increased number of students have secured the highest grades A*/A across all their subjects.

Ysgol Rhiwabon Staff and Governors are proud of the achievements of every single learner this year. The Class of 2023 has displayed some outstanding individual achievements and a collective success which the school and local community can be proud of.

Mrs Ferron-Evans, Headteacher, commented:

“This cohort has worked very hard to secure success and we are very proud of them. Staff deserve a special mention for working tirelessly to support and secure this success, supported by the school governors. On behalf of the school and the Governing Body, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, students and parents for their contribution to the incredible amount of hard work and dedication shown across a wide range of studies.

The grades achieved provide certainty and opportunity for the future. As Ysgol Rhiwabon students move forward, supported by the school, the results will enable our young people to further their studies, or to enter the world of work, as confident and successful individuals. We wish them continued success and happiness in the future.’’
