Denise Moneypenny, of Ysgol Rhiwabon, received the Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of her exceptional contribution to education and her unwavering commitment to the school community.
James Bond has a Moneypenny in his life and Ysgol Rhiwabon is no exception. In fact Ysgol Rhiwabon is proud to have 4 Moneypenny’s. All to be revealed later.
Denise started her career in Ysgol Rhiwabon on November 1st 1991 and has continued to work in the school with unwavering loyalty. She began her career in the school as Science Technician and her keen mind and ability to problem solve soon became apparent. As her career progressed she became the School’s Examination Officer as well as supporting with data and the office staff with various administrative responsibilities.
Denise is humble and caring with a wicked sense of humour. Her many personal anecdotes arising from her proud Welsh upbringing and from her friends and family have been woven into the history of Ysgol Rhiwabon.
We defy anyone not to be entertained by Denise and to be in awe of her expertise as Examinations Officer. She would never boast or discuss her achievements in work but we are all very proud of her. Regular inspection and monitoring visits during the examination period have verified Denise’s excellence in her role and she is held up as someone who can share good practice across the authority with literally decades of experience.
Without a doubt Denise deserved the Outstanding Achievement Award and to be recognised and honoured for her significant and positive impact on education in the region, across a significant number of years.
Denise has not only dedicated herself to her work in Ysgol Rhiwabon, she has ensured the Moneypenny name and dedication lives on through her son Nyall, our site manager and her daughters Hollie, our new Examination Officer and Carrie one of our amazing teaching assistants. This contributes even more to her most treasured, outstanding achievements.
