During another successful open evening at Ysgol Rhiwabon, we ran a competition for the Year 5 & 6 students to use their knowledge of estimation.
Students had to analyse and estimate the number of sweets in the jar. Students (and parents!) were using all sorts of strategies to give them the best estimate!
There were lots of students who were extremely close but only one winner…. Annabelle Singh from Cefn Mawr Primary School!
The exact number was 122 and Annabelle estimated 121 so was extremely close. Annabelle was presented her prize by the Head of Maths, Mrs Beveridge.
Well done to all our entries, especially those in the highly commended category. We look forward to seeing all the bright Mathematicians when they join Year 7.
