Wrexham Learning Bus

Wrexham Glyndwr University, alongside our Adult Community Learning partners, is delighted to be part of a county-wide festival of celebration to promote learning.

In collaboration with the Learning and Work Institute, representatives from the university and other adult learning and service providers across the county, will be out and about on the Wrexham Learning Bus, offering information, advice and guidance and fun taster workshops for all – for FREE.

Workshops include aromatherapy, Chinese medicine, social media for employability, securing facebook, mindfullness, counselling and many more. Keep checking here, daily for details on dates and locations.

The bus will start its journey at the opening ceremony of Wrexham Street Festival on Saturday, April 30 in Wrexham Town Centre and will be travelling around Acton, Brynteg, Caia Park and Hightown, Coedpoeth, Gwersyllt, Llay, and Plas Madoc as well as other locations around the town centre.

The bus’ journey will round off as part of Adult Learners’ Week 2016 with a wide range of free activities planned across the country!

The Wrexham Learning Bus will give visitors the chance to chat with representatives from organisations such as Wrexham Itec, Libraries, Communities First, Careers Wales, the Job Centre, and The OU and WEA Cymru. There is no need to book, just pop in, whether the bus is parked in your area, or if you want to take part in a specific session taking place in another area – the bus is open to all!

Wrexham Glyndŵr University will also play a key role in the project, for those interested in studying at WGU.

“It’s the perfect way to find out more information about us, what courses we provide, and the chance to see our new look prospectus, all while having a great day out with friends and family,” said Sarah Gaffney, Wrexham Glyndwr University’s widening access co-coordinator.

“We are delighted that the festival is in Wrexham this year. We wanted to create an event that would encompass learning, skills and promote adult learners week in the Wrexham area.

To find out where the bus is over May and June, check back here for the timetable which is coming soon.
