Students at Ysgol Rhiwabon recently undertook a Christmas Fair to support the Hope House Children’s Hospice and gain valuable business experience as part of their Welsh Baccalaureate qualification.
Students, working in small groups, developed a business idea that would create items that could be used at a Christmas Fair to generate income.
Ms S Bourhill, Welsh Baccalaureate Leader, said,
‘The students have a put a tremendous amount of time and energy in to this project and it paid dividends on the evening with the wide range of ideas on show. I am very pleased with the enthusiasm that has been shown and would like to thank all staff and students who were involved’.
Mrs Ferron-Evans, Headteacher said,
‘It is the first time that we have run a Fair from 4pm to 6pm and have it open to the local community. The numbers of visitors to the school for the Fair was brilliant and I know that everyone had a very enjoyable time. Some of the pictures from the evening were a sight to behold!’
