Mr. Lawrence dons the headphones...

Mr. Dennis Lawrence, the ex-Wrexham footballer and Trinidad and Tobago World Cup International, recently visited the Talking Newspaper studio.

Mr. Lawrence met with the Year 8 students who read each week:– Katie Mellor, Sean Edwards, Celine Lawrence, Jack Lloyd and Simon Layhe.

Mr Lawrence gave a very interesting account of his life as a footballer, including how he came to play at Wrexham and other clubs.

... and prepares the tapes for despatch

He told the listeners how exciting it was to play forTrinidad in the World Cup. There were many Welsh fans supporting the Trinidadian team.

We also learned about his favourite food, how he met his wife and his future plans now that he has retired from football.

Mr Lawrence stayed to help prepare the 100 or so tapes which are despatched each week.
