A-Level
Chairman of Governors, J. Penri Williams, with Chris Symonds and Jack Knight

This year we acheived an overall pass rate of 96%.

The Welsh Baccalaureate was an outstanding feature of the results, with a 91% pass rate at advanced level. This compares very favourably with the 2010 all-Wales figure of 81%.

Topping the table was Jack Knight whose haul of five A-grades included two at A*. Jack will proceed to Leicester University where he will study Biological Sciences.

Chris Symonds claimed three A-grades in his five A-levels while student president Josh Williams included an A* in his five A-levels. Both Chris and Josh are going to study law, Chris at Liverpool and Josh at Aberystwyth, while Psychology is the chosen course of Sally Morris who secured two A-grades in her five A-levels.

Virtually all of our A-level students have been successful in obtaining places at university, the majority to study their first choice of course at their first choice of university.
