Ysgol Rhiwabon Adventurous Activities Programme

Ysgol Rhiwabon Adventurous Activities Programme

The Ysgol Rhiwabon Adventurous Activities Programme was started a few years ago in partnership with, and funded by, the PE and School Sports Initiative (PESS).

Although Pess funding is no longer available, the programme has become a great success and is now wholly sustained by the school.

The programme is open to pupils in years 7, 8 and 9.

Year 7 pupils have the opportunity to spend a half-day learning rock climbing on the indoor climbing wall at Plas Madoc Leisure Centre.

Year 8 pupils spend a full day doing either mountain biking, gorge walking, or canoeing.

Year 9 pupils can join a two day residential course involving canoeing, night navigation, and mountain biking.

Pupils who wish to take part should see Mr. Bingham of the PE department.

Photographs of the activities can be seen in the Ysgol Rhiwabon web gallery, here.
