Mathematics is a compulsory subject at GCSE level and the pupils will be taught in sets according to ability.

Most pupils will be entered for the WJEC GCSE Mathematics examination. Entry Level Certificate will be offered as an alternative to pupils for whom GCSE is inappropriate.

Assessment for both tiers will be through a non-calculator and calculator paper, both lasting 2 hours each, at the end of year 11. There is no coursework for this subject.
