I recently came across a photo of myself in the uniform of Ruabon Girls' Grammar School with an "Offa" badge on the pinafore skirt. Glad to see this website.I was there from 1958-1963.We had one male teacher! Mr John Hutton. On the whole I ws happy there. The regime was very strict there, then, with teachers like Miss Hughes-Jones, Mrs Norton (Maths),Mrs Hemmington,Miss Saunders, and Mrs Thomas who taught RE. Interesting web site. I am an ex pupil (1970/76)and thoroughly enjoyed my years at Ysgol Rhiwabon. My main contribution in school was to sport, playing hockey, badminton etc and athletics -javelin. I was also an active member of the hill walking crowd and spent many happy hours in Snowdonia, thanks to the teachers at the time who introduced many pupils to this activity, including Frank Simon, Ken Jones, Jon Sam Evans and Glyn Jones, who always conned me into carrying his butties. From school hockey I progressed to playing for Wrexham, thaks to Keris Williams. Attended PE college in Barry and am now working for Llysfasi Colege as a training officer. Would be nice to see some older pupils' contributions on te site. jacduc_2000@btinternet.com Archives
