At Key Stage 3 the course is based on the four attainment targets of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Topics covered include introducing yourself, family, pets, likes and dislikes, birthdays, food and drink, finding your way, time, transport, holidays, my home town, my home, travel, my family, school etc.

At Key Stage 4 students are entered for the Welsh Board GCSE based on five areas of experience: everyday activities, personal and social life, the world around us, the world of work and the international world.

At AS and A2the course aims to develop the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening through the study of 2 different topics each year..
