TO PRODUCE A NEW BILINGUAL ECO-CODE
  • Discussion at Eco-Committee meeting.
  • Update/amend Eco-Code following student feedback.
  • Design new Eco-Code.
  • Translate Eco-Code into Welsh.

£60 to colour copy and laminate Eco-Code, using paper recycling funds. January 2012. Eco-Code to be revisited annually and amended as necessary.

TO HAVE A LITTER FREE SITE
  • Identify litter ‘hotspots’ on school site.
  • Interview caretaker(s).
  • Clean up of school site and community.
  • Assemblies to promote a litter free site.
  • Eco-Committee.
  • Y7 CCF days and community day.
Possible purchase of new bins.
  • 18th January 2011.
  • “You can make a difference” 1/10/11, working with ‘Keep Wales Tidy’ and local community. 
  • November 2011.
  • January 2012.
  • Continuous monitoring of school site by members of the Eco-Committee’.
  • Consultation with both caretakers.

TO SAVE ENERGY AND WATER
  • New ‘motion detectors’ in classrooms to reduce lighting bill.
  • New stop taps in toilets to reduce water bill.
  • School newsletter on website.  Paper copies available for parents/students who need a hard copy.
  • Mr Evans, Business Manager.
  • Members of Eco-Committee to see Mr Evans every term.
Cost of detectors and stop taps. Summer term 2011.
  • Monitor energy and water consumption termly.
  • Check whether on line newsletter is read by parents/students, questionnaire for students.
