Ysgol Rhiwabon charity work
Marie Curie Fund-Raising Day

Tim & Carrie Morris of Oswestry's Booka bookshop
The annual Quiz organised by the school in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care on 11th November 2010 was again a great success.

The library was full to capacity with 20 teams competing.

The quiz and its associated sale of cakes," pound in the pot" competition, and raffle, raised £716.26, taking the total passed to this charity by Ysgol Rhiwabon to £3042.32

The organisers would like to thank local businesses and the community whose generosity, alongside that of the staff ensured that all prizes, cakes and refreshments were donated so that every penny raised went to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Special thanks are due to our main sponsors  “BOOKA" Bookshop & Cafe, Church Street, Oswestry for generously donating major prizes for the quiz and raffle. Pictured above are owners, Tim & Carrie Morris.

"Thirty two cups of tea, please!"
The quiz had a thrilling outcome with a team of current sixth formers, “We’re lost without Huw”, equal on points with past winners and former sixth formers “We’re with truck”

The current students led by former Deputy Head Dave Thompson finally triumphed through the tie break.
