The High Ropes Course at Bala

The years
10 and 11 vocational groups have an afternoon every two weeks of outdoor activities .

Over the year they have taken part in a number of different activities ,making the most of the local area and facilities:-

   Dinas bran Castle

   High Ropes Course - Bala
   Canoeing - on the Trefor basin canal
   Rock Climbing - at  Plas Madoc Leisure Centre
   Mountain Biking - in  Llandegla Forest
   Snowboarding Lesson- Chill Factor Manchester

Outdoor Activities provide a wonderful opportunity for pupils to build self confidence ,work as part of a team ,gain an appreciation of the local enviroment and have great fun !

The canoeing took place on the canal near Trefor. The group worked as a team in 2- or 3-man open canoes ,and also individually in kayaks. The activity was run by the Nantyr Outdoor Centre.

The High Ropes Course is designed to aid team building and to boost self-confidence & awareness of responsibility for one's own safety. It is organised by "Get High Adventure" in Bala. Tthe ropes course is 20 meters above the ground and is the highest in the UK .
